Niagra Falls

After moving up north to Virginia, I decided I wanted to see Niagra Fall in Canada. With passport ready, I went for new years and stayed at the Holiday Inn right by the falls. At night there was a free concert at the park near by and of course fireworks! It was awesome but very cold. Hopefully I can see it again in the summer time :)

Orlando!

My brother and I with friends wanted to see the new Harry Potter at Universal Studios so we decided to go be a kid again! We stayed at the Sheraton Vistana Resorts which was really awesome. We spent the whole week playing at the Theme Park and took a day trip to Daytona beach. We rode as many rides as we could and took pics with all our favorite characters. I think this is our 3rd or 4th time here but its always fun and would definitely go again :)

Under da Sea

My sissy lived in Ft Lauderdale, Florida and became a scuba diving instructor so naturally I wanted to try it out to. She taught me the proper techniques in a pool and later took me out.  I saw so many ocean live from stink rays to spiny lobster to eels. It was a great experience and it is harder than it looks to stay boyant.

Chi-town

I went on a weekend trip to Chicago before my work training. I have to say that it is a great city for day and night life! I went to Millennium Park where there is a variety of plants and flowers and there are lots of people enjoying themselves. There are various sculptures and monuments to see and there are so many people out and about. Definitely the city to be at. The Chicago skyline is also amazing...I had no idea that it was right smack on the lake. Another hot spot is Navy Pier.
Here you can eat at a variety of restaurants, take a trip on a boat, have some drinks, listen to live music, and enjoy the evening fireworks. I was truly impressed! Of course Chicago is known for its pizza so went to Pizzeria Due for some deep dish...it was delicious! I hope to visit again.

South African Adventure

This was my first pond hopping trip! My friend Vanessa and I went to see our long time friend Megan who works in the Peace Corp in Lesothos. We flew into Johannesburg on what was the longest flight in my life but well worth the trip. When we got there, Megan was happily there to greet us. We rented a car and somehow made it to Sanbonani Lodge near Kruger Park. It was a nice place! We stayed there a week and had a great time! It consisted of interacting with a baby Elephant and other animals, an evening Safari, and my favorite...zip lining! We also drove around to the the sights which included God's Window. After our week we went back to Johannesburg to visit the city! We went to Nelson Mandela square, took a tour of the city and relaxed before our travel back home. I don't know when I will be back but I know that Africa has lots of great places to visit. On to my next adventure!

Florida Beaches are Calling!

I am a beach gal since I was born in Corpus Christi, TX and remember always enjoyed playing in the waves and the sand. My sister and I wanted the opportunity to visit other beaches so Florida came to mind. We went in the middle of the summer to Ft. Lauderdale and stayed at the Golden Strand Resort. We spent the majority of the time playing in the water and getting that sun kissed glow but we also did a snorkeling trip as well as we've never done one before...I loved it! You can swim amongst the fishes and see all the beauty the ocean has to offer. A hot spot in the city is near Las Olas blvd. Here you can eat seafood and do some souvenir shopping at all the cute shops. It is also right across from the beach so it is a perfect place to go to get everything at once! We also visited the Miami zoo which has so many varieties of animals. I even got to ride a camel :P We also were adventurous and went sky diving! Definitely a once in a life time activity you have to try. The rush and excitement will literally take your breath away. Another fun place we went to visit is Mai-Kai which is a restaurant with entertainment. The food and drinks were tasty and the Polynesian show was fun to watch. Florida is a great vacation spot and I can definitely see myself making an annual trip here :)

Hill Country

My sister and I with friends went to spend the weekend in the hill country in Texas. We did some hiking, horseback riding, and played horse shoes. It was nice and hot but the cabin we stayed in was cute so we enjoyed our stay.
