I am a beach gal since I was born in Corpus Christi, TX and remember always enjoyed playing in the waves and the sand. My sister and I wanted the opportunity to visit other beaches so Florida came to mind. We went in the middle of the
summer to Ft. Lauderdale and stayed at the Golden Strand Resort. We spent the majority of the time playing in the water and getting that sun kissed glow but we also did a snorkeling trip as well as we've never done one before...I loved it! You can swim amongst the fishes and see all the beauty the ocean has to offer. A hot spot in the city is near Las Olas blvd. Here you can eat seafood and do some souvenir shopping at all the cute shops. It is also right across from the beach so it is a perfect place to go to get everything at once! We also visited the Miami zoo which has so many varieties of animals. I even got to ride a camel :P We also were adventurous and went sky diving! Definitely a
once in a life time activity you have to try. The rush and excitement will literally take your breath away. Another fun place we went to visit is Mai-Kai which is a restaurant with entertainment. The food and drinks were tasty and the Polynesian show was fun to watch. Florida is a great vacation spot and I can definitely see myself making an annual trip here :)
